Proactol is a fat binder suppliment that helps in losing weight by absorbing the fat from your intake. Or at least, this is what the official website claims to do. In order to find out whether this is a valid claim, a clinical test was carried out to determine whether Proactol has any effect. This Proactol review will present the result of the clinical test.
The experimental review
The clinical study was aimed at observing whether the complex form of Opuntia ficus indica, which is the most active ingredient of Proactol, has any effect on fat binding. It was done by ten healthy volunteers (5 men and 5 women), and the participants were randomly divided into two groups, one receiving Proactol ingredients and the other group receiving placebo. The first group took 1.6g of Proactol every meal for one week. The second group took the placebo, which looked exactly like the Proactol capsule except that the ingredients were missing, during the same time. The participants did not know whether their capsule was Proactol or the placebo. During the test period, all the volunteers had strict diet with standardized meals, to insure that the amount of fat intake was constant. This was done in order to measure the results. The effect of Proactol dose was analyzed by measuring steatorrhea in the faeces of the volunteers after two-7day product consumption period.
What is the result of the test?
The quantity of fat excreted by the group that took Proactol was found to be 27.4% higher than the group that took placebo. In addition, no side-effects or discomfort was reported by the volunteers. The results indicate that that the ingredient of Proactol Opuntia ficus indica decreases the assimilation of fat (absorption of fat from the intestine to the blood) following a heavy meal, and consequently the amount of fat excreted increases.
Apart from the clinical tests, Proactol was also reviewed by some other consumers. One consumer, Megan Jones, who is receptionist by profession, decided to give Proactol a try after being unsatisfied by a variety of other diet pills.
