Under what circumstances are there problems while using trailer loader or stacker truck?
-Back ache due to heavy weight lifting
-Accidents due to slippery area
-Inadequate training provided to operators
-Falls or trips while loading the cargos
-Looking out from the powered industrial trucks
-Deafness while at work
-Improper maintenance of the truck and its parts
One may develop sprain in the neck or shoulder, back pain, slipped disk and other life threatening injuries due to the above. Trailer loaders must be maintained well in order to avert these dangers. The employer will take responsibility of the work place accidents. He will be liable to provide 100% compensation to the workers if there is any injury for which he is directly or indirectly responsible.
He should train the operator and also the workers around the site. Mere information on the working, safety precautions will be sufficient to the workers. They should know what does an alert in the boom conveyors mean, are they about to extend or retract now? They should be aware not to come in the way of these forklift trucks. Make sure that these workers don’t wear loose clothes with out tucking them in properly or without tying their hair appropriately. Do not leave your hair open it may come in the way of the boom conveyors.
An in depth training is definitely essential for the operators. These operators must know about the pot holes, hilly areas, slippery parts, walls and scaffoldings in the work place. This helps them drive rightly without banging any of the obstacles. Do not stretch out or look out, there may be some thing falling on you. Stay inside your truck till you move to some safe place.
These trucks may topple over if they are overloaded. Poor maintenance of this trailer loader may lead to mishaps. Inappropriate load positioning and improper driving habits may cause problems. Be aware of all these and then set off to work.
Adequate training and proper maintenance will help stay away from problems. If you are an employer of an industrial unit, you must be aware of all these!
